Grupo Fantasma in Albuquerque on Wednesday, Santa Fe on Sunday

The independent Latin funk ensemble from Austin, Texas will play two shows in New Mexico. Wednesday they'll play at Albuquerque's Launchpad(for only $7!) and on Sunday they are at the Santa Fe Brewing Company.

I can't say enough good things about this band, their stage show is amazing and they've recently backed up Prince at a number of events. According to Allmusicguide.com:
the grassroots success of Grupo Fantasma marks them as one of the decade's most important independent artists in the latin genre. The band successfully obliterates the clichés that often plague the current Latin music market, all the while keeping their feet firmly planted in the traditions that they love and deeply respect.
